I mentioned in a previous post that my mom's side of the family came down to our home a few weeks ago to celebrate Mothers Day and my grandma's birthday. I had been wanting to bake this "Perfect Party Cake" by Dorie Greenspan for months, and this seemed like the perfect opportunity. Let me tell you, it tested my cooking skills, and icing it was a bit of a pain, but all in all, it came out perfect. The entire cake was made from scratch, right down to the filling and icing.
Here are a few other pics of the kids from that day....we played outside all day with water balloons, and they loved every minute of it!
