We're coming up on our 2 year anniversary this October, and are trying to plan a romantic few days away over Justin's fall break from school. Have any of you taken an great weekend trips to places you would recommend? We're up for anything, or anywhere. We've looked at a lot of places online, but it's so hard to judge a place just by the website. So friends, we're asking for help/recommendations. Let us know of a weekend vacation place that you or your family would recommend. We appreciate any help/suggestions that you can give us!

We did Brown County for our first anniversary and had a great time! Spent time walking around, checking out the shops, but then had plenty of time to just relax and enjoy eachother. Could even do a day in the park! It was an inexpensive way to be away from it all. WONDERFUL! (p.s. I have a 2nd anniversary location I can't reveal yet, but it'll be awesome!!)
two words....MARSHALL, MICHIGAN!
:) Miss you!
We did Mackinac Island, MI for our first anniversary (in October) and it was AMAZING! The drive was long, but we happened to go the last weekend of "the season" so we got all sorts of deals. We stayed on the island in a B&B (which normally we couldn't have afforded) and most of the stores have GREAT sales b/c they don't want to pack anything back up to ship back to the main land... so we got all of our Christmas shopping done, too! Plus, you're so far north that the fall foliage colors are just incredible. It's hands-down my most favorite getaway we've done. Very romantic & quiet-- no cars on the island. We ate well, slept well, and had lots of "us" time. Loved it!
PS- We did Brown County for our 2nd anniversary, and it too was great. Loved the colors-- stayed in another B&B, and just enjoyed each other. Good suggestion, Biz. And, it might save you a little on drive time and gas ;)
Hmmm...romantic time with my husband...I think I forgot that there is such a thing! :) We went to Vegas for our first Anniversary, which is neither romantic or within driving distance. Occasionally, when we're feeling crazy, we'll go to this place in Noblesville called Meijer. That IS within driving distance, but a bit less romantic. Now that I think about it, I've got nothin' for you...but, good luck! And let me know what you decide...Owen might like to tag along with you that weekend! :) Can't wait to see you Friday!
How about Graceland!! Thank you. . . thank you very much! ;0)

Brown County is great this time of year and so is Gatlinberg, TN. Shannon had suggested a girl trip there, she said they rented a cabin and had a blast! Good Luck and Have FUN!!!

We went to a wedding in Saugatuck (sp?) Michigan one year, and its a cute little town... I'm going to keep checking this, because we need some ideas for an upcoming anniversary too!
